Strengthening Agricultural Productivity Through Local Fertilizer Production
Due to the severe decline in soil fertility, farmers can no longer avoid using chemical fertilizers, which are considered strategic products in the country. However, importing these fertilizers is costly for both the state and farmers, and quantities often arrive late or insufficient. To address these challenges, an experienced entrepreneur in fertilizer import and distribution created a local Organo-Mineral Fertilizer production plant called Fertilisants Organo-Minéraux Industries (FOMI). This initiative supports food security, national sovereignty, job creation, and foreign-currency savings. FOMI also provides a communication platform, including its information address, enabling the public and farmers to learn about all its products.
