On July 1, 2021, Burundi celebrated the 59th anniversary of its independence. Several distinguished guests graced the ceremony with their presence. Among them was the Tanzanian Prime Minister, His Excellency Kassim Mazaliwa, who represented Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
In fact, His Excellency Kassim Mazaliwa praised Burundi’s independence in the local production of certain agricultural inputs, particularly organo-mineral fertilizers, by the FOMI Company.
Furthermore, he took the opportunity to visit the FOMI Company, where he witnessed firsthand the entire manufacturing process of organo-mineral fertilizers and agricultural lime. He expressed his appreciation for FOMI’s operations and stated that Tanzania had already allocated land for the construction of a sister plant in the country.
Finally, he indicated that Her Excellency the President of the United Republic of Tanzania also plans to visit Burundi and the FOMI Company in particular in the coming days.
