On May 24, 2019, the Minister of Public Security and Disaster Management, CPC Alain Guillaume BUNYONI, accompanied by other officers of the Burundi National Police, visited the factory producing organo-mineral fertilizers and agricultural lime, known as “FOMI”.
Arriving at the factory at 11:00 AM, he was greeted by the Legal Representative of FOMI, the Managing Director, and the Department Directors. The Managing Director immediately welcomed all the visitors, and the Technical Director then took over to explain the manufacturing process of fertilizer and agricultural lime.
Following this explanation, the Minister had the opportunity to visit various raw material storage areas, as well as those of the finished product (Fomi-Imbura and agricultural lime), and to observe the entire production process.
Shared Satisfaction
In his interview, Simon NTIRAMPEBA, Managing Director of FOMI, expressed his satisfaction with the visit. He added that the Minister encouraged them in their work to achieve optimal production.
For his part, the Minister of Public Security and Disaster Management stated that he had observed that FOMI has reached a very respectable level in terms of its size, the quality of its production, its technical expertise, and the technologies it employs. Minister Alain Guillaume Bunyoni congratulated the management and staff of this company, and especially the project’s promoter. He further noted that “the efforts made by the community policing unit have not been in vain but have enabled Burundian investors to move forward and develop highly profitable projects for the country.”
The Minister reassured FOMI that his ministry would remain by its side, not only ensuring security but also combating any form of crime that might target it. He thus warned those with ill intentions that “the police will not allow them, under any circumstances, to disrupt the operations of public or private companies.”
Finally, it should be noted that Minister Alain Guillaume Bunyoni signed FOMI’s guestbook.
