On May 24, 2019, the Minister of Public Security and Disaster Management, CPC Alain Guillaume Bunyoni, accompanied by other senior officers of the Burundi National Police, visited the organo-mineral fertilizer and agricultural lime manufacturing plant, known as “FOMI.”
Arriving at the plant at 11:00 a.m., he was greeted by FOMI’s Legal Representative, the General Manager, and the Department Directors.
The General Manager immediately welcomed all the visitors, and the Technical Director then explained the fertilizer and agricultural lime manufacturing process.
Following this explanation, the Minister had the opportunity to visit various raw material storage areas, as well as those containing the finished product (FOMI-IMBURA and agricultural lime), and to observe the entire production process.
In his interview, Simon NTIRAMPEBA, CEO of FOMI, expressed his satisfaction with the visit. He added that the Minister encouraged them in their work to achieve optimal production.
For his part, the Minister of Public Security and Disaster Management stated that he had observed that FOMI had reached a very respectable level in terms of its size, production quality, technical expertise, and the technologies it employs. He congratulated the management and staff of the company, and especially the project’s promoter. He further noted that “the efforts made by community policing have not been in vain but have enabled Burundian investors to move forward and develop highly profitable projects for the country.” He reassured FOMI that his ministry would continue to support them, not only by ensuring their security but also by combating any form of crime that might befall them. He thus issued a warning to those with ill intentions that “the police will not allow them to disrupt the operations of public or private companies under any circumstances.”
Finally, it should be noted that Minister Alain Guillaume Bunyoni signed the FOMI guestbook.
