On Monday, September 8, 2025, the FOMI Fertilizer Manufacturing Company hosted guests from Tanzania. They were led by the Director General of the Tanzania Fertilizer Regulatory Authority, Dr. Antony Diallo.
In his welcoming speech, FOMI’s CEO Simon Ntirampeba gave them a brief history of the company. The CEO explained how they work with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Environment to help farmers obtain fertilizer. He informed them that the Government is the one who calls on farmers to register and then each one pays according to the amount and type of fertilizer they want. He also explained that FOMI’s trucks transport the fertilizer within the country so that farmers can get it within a short distance.
Some of the guests asked questions about whether the fertilizer produced by FOMI is suitable for farmers, and whether there are other fertilizer manufacturers besides FOMI. The CEO answered these various questions.
Dr. Antony Diallo led the guests in his presentation, informing them that they had come to exchange knowledge so that they could learn from it how to work with ITRACOM Fertilizer in providing fertilizer to farmers in a short time.
He informed them that they had gained a lot of information that will be useful for them in the process of providing fertilizer to citizens. He commended the leaders of FOMI for how they were able to work with the ministry and banks in the process of providing fertilizer to citizens.
