The FOMI Sales Direction is continuing its awareness campaign among FOMI fertilizer distributors across the country. On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in Gitega, the Direction organized a training meeting on FOMI fertilizer distribution for distributors operating in the Muramvya, Gitega, and Mwaro districts of Gitega Province.
During this meeting, FOMI Sales Director Jean Pierre Nzobandora presented an update situation on fertilizer distribution and urged distributors to conduct their work with care and wisdom, for the benefit of farmers, to be good role models, and to serve and collaborate effectively with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and the Environment, as well as with local authorities. In this regard, FOMI fertilizer distributors are advised to store the fertilizers properly to prevent them from deteriorating in storage.

The head of the FOMI company’s commercial department, Jean Marie Ndayisenga, reminded participants of the advantages of proper fertilizer distribution. He added that disregarding fertilizer distribution regulations established by the authorities results in severe penalties, including removal from the distributor list and legal sanctions.

Further to the Commercial Director’s remarks, the head of Quality Management departement, Marius Bucumi, emphasized the importance of good conduct towards beneficiaries, including avoiding disrespect, discrimination, verbal abuse, and unjustified refusals to serve some beneficiaries. He also recommended to follow the example set by certain distributors already recognized as exemplary. In closing, the Commercial Director of FOMI answered various questions from distributors regarding the challenges they face in distributing FOMI fertilizers, which are in high demand among farmers.
It should be noted that similar meetings will continue in other provinces such as Buhumuza, Burunga, and Butanyerera.
