Said and done! As announced by the Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, His Excellency Kassim Majaliwa, on July 1, 2021, H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, visited FOMI on July 16, 2021.
Indeed, Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Industry and Trade, and several Tanzanian business leaders. She noted that this was her first visit to Burundi and was pleasantly surprised to find an industry like FOMI operating in the country.
It is worth recalling that H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan is the fourth head of state—after Pierre Nkurunziza, Évariste Ndayishimiye of Burundi, and Sahle-Work Zewde of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia—to visit FOMI since its activities began in February 2019.
