On Thursday, August 13, 2026, the FOMI company welcomed a delegation from Burkina Faso led by His Excellency Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, the Burkinabe Minister of Foreign Affairs. In his welcoming remarks, the Deputy Managing Director of FOMI noted that the company is a subsidiary of Itracom Holding, which was represented by its Deputy Managing Director, Jean Joseph Nyandwi. Taking the floor, Mr. Nyandwi presented the full scope of Itracom Holding’s activities to the delegation. He explained that organo-mineral fertilizers are unique because they restore soil fertility, unlike conventional fertilizers.

FOMI’s Deputy Managing Director, Herménégilde Manyange, then presented the company’s history and its achievements since 2019 to the visitors.

For his part, the Burkinabe Foreign Minister expressed his satisfaction. He stated that his visit was part of the joint commission initiative launched by the heads of state of Burkina Faso and #Burundi, aimed at signing several agreements, including one covering the agricultural sector. Minister Karamoko Jean Marie #Traoré remarked that Burundi possesses potential that can contribute to the African economy.
He noted that Burkina Faso is also keenly interested in fertilizers, given that a significant portion of its population relies on agriculture. In short, he was pleased to observe that Africa shares common ambitions and the potential to realize them—aligning with the vision of Burkina Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
